Survey Findings
To add on to the studies behind the results, Talentbank also conducted a survey to gather information from the students about career goals, preferred industries, as well as expected salaries for their first job.
Based on the survey, Talentbank found that male students’ preferred industries are:
- Engineering
- Tech
- Banking
- Electronics
- Telecommunication
While female students’ preferred industries are:
- Banking
- Education
- Accounting & Professional Services
- E-Commerce
- Tech
On top of the industries that these students prefer, Talentbank also found that male students prioritised career development whereas females prioritised good bosses and leaders. What a striking difference!
Another unsurprising discovery that Talentbank found from this survey is that students expect a starting salary of RM2,500 to RM3,500 as well as a monthly internship allowance of RM1,000! Sounds about right.
Now you can take part to vote for next year’s best employers & win prizes worth up to RM15,000 too!
