Has been named the top employer of choice by undergraduates, followed by Nestle and Petroliam Nasional Bhd (Petronas) at the 2018 Graduates Choice Award ceremony in Kuala Lumpur recently.
The inaugural award, organised by graduate recruitment company HRINCAMPUS, saw undergraduates from more than 100 campuses vote for their preferred employer brands among 360 companies across 10 categories.
Maybank won the the Best Graduate Employer Brand 2018 under the Banking category, with Petronas winning the Engineering category. AirAsia won the E-commerce category and Sunway Group won under the Real Estate category.
Other winners include Ikea Malaysia in the Retail category, AIA Bhd in the Insurance category, Nestle in the FMCG (FastMoving Consumer Goods) category, Shell Business Operations in the Shared Services Category, Microsoft in the ICT category and PricewaterhouseCoopers Malaysia in the Accounting and Professional Services category.
Education Ministry deputy directorgeneral for Higher Education (Private Sector) Dr Mohd Nor Azman Hassan, who represented the education minister at the event, said: “The Graduates Choice Award celebrates and recognises excellence among organisations that go above and beyond in bridging the gap between the industry and academia.
“This is imperative to achieving the government’s commitment to transform the education system to keep up with the ever-changing and rising tides of global industry climates.”
HRINCAMPUS founder and chief executive officer Ben Ho said: “The award is a huge success with overwhelming participation from corporations and universities.
“This shows that employers understand the importance of reaching out to undergraduates, and is increasingly making recruitment of fresh graduates a strategic part of their hiring process.”
The ceremony, attended by more than 400 people, was held at the Sunway Pyramid Convention Centre.
